Car 500, in a fading "Sunset Lines" scheme, sits in Wheaton Yard on August 10, 1941. Removed from service after a motor blew out, it has been in this location for more than ten years.

The CA&E's only lightweight interurban car, 500, is seen in Wheaton Yard on June 21, 1942. In a short amount of time it will be sent to the Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad to operate in their city service.

Car 500, seen here on the North Shore Line as 361, is at the North Chicago car barn on November 30, 1947. The car's third rail beams—superfluous on the North Shore Line—have been removed, giving a clear view of the sideframes.

North Shore Line city car 361, formerly CA&E car 500, is topped with a bit of snow at Great Lakes-Downey's West siding in May of 1947. It is seen with the North Shore Line’s 500-series cars which are awaiting scrapping.
