312 is laid up in in Wheaton yard still wearing a faded “Sunset Lines” scheme. The car still has its stained glass “rainbow sash” windows visible, but has lost the distinct under-double-window-only belt rail in favor of one of full length.

A three car train composed of Kuhlman cars poses on a concrete bridge circa 1911. At the time of the photograph, these were the newest cars on the railroad. This early photo depicts the cars with one of their most distinct features: the non-contiguous belt rail.
